Conference "Open and Affirming"
and LGBT Resources
The PSEC chapter of the UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns is co-coordinated by Nancy Krody (215-429-8216; nkrody@temple.edu) and the Rev. Douglas Holder (215-249-9259 or 215-815-6262; saintlukesunited churchofchrist@verizon.net). It offers support, networking, and educational resources to churches and their members in the PSEC. It currently meets on a Friday night at the Church House in alternate months.
The ONA Coordinator for the PSEC, who has been trained to help local churches consider going through the educational process to become open and affirming, is Carole Greenauer.
The ONA Core Group meets in alternate months (from the Coalition months) at Church House on a Tuesday evening to discuss resources and strategize about churches that may be ready to consider beginning the ONA process.
The staff person responsible for Justice and Witness concerns is also the Resource Center Coordinator, Mary Sicher. She can provide a wide variety of educational resources, both print and A-V, for churches or persons seeking information.
The ONA churches in the Conference, listed in order of becoming ONA, whose pastors and lay leaders can be of help to individuals or other churches, are: Tabernacle United Church, Philadelphia; United Christian Church, Levittown; Old First Reformed UCC, Philadelphia; Collenbrook United Church, Drexel Hill; Olivet Schwenkfelder UCC , E. Norriton; St. Luke’s UCC, Philadelphia; and UCC at East Goshen, West Chester
