Spring Conference Meeting
LANCASTER HOST CONVENTION CENTER LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA JUNE 6–7, 2008  The theme for this year’s Spring Meeting of the Pennsylvania SoutheastConference is “Being Church—Choosing Life.” It will begin on Friday, June 6 at 10:00 am (Registration begins at 9:00 am) and conclude on Saturday, June 7 at 5:00 pm. The location will again be the Lancaster Host Resort, 2300 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602. Three special guests will lead this spring's meeting: Steve Sterner, Mark Burrows and Claire Burkat. The Rev. Stephen Sterner (below left) is Acting Executive Minister of the UCC’s Local Church Ministries and former Senior Minister of Church of the Beatitudes UCC in Phoenix, Arizona. The Rev. Dr. Mark Burrows (below center) is Professor of the History of Christianity at Andover Newton Theological School, Newton Centre, MA. The Rev. Claire Burkat (below right) is Bishop of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.    In addition to exciting music and inspiring worship, 10 workshops will be offered to show “signs of life” in the church—both locally and around the world. Whether you are a delegate, church member, visitor or friend, this will be a wonderful opportunity to share in the life of our wider church family. Twice each year, in June and November, delegates from approximately 180 congregations gather to plan and lead the ministry of our Conference. At these Spring and Fall Meetings, we conduct the business of the Conference, learn new ways to strengthen one another's ministry, and celebrate our common life together through worship and fellowship.
