CHURCH DEVELOPMENT REVITALIZED CHURCHES RESOURCES & LINKS DEVELOPMENT FUNDING TRAINING EVENTS
New churches are born in a variety of ways
in the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference
1. By Adoption
A process for adopting established congregations seeking affiliation with the United Church of Christ. Some recent examples are:
  · Hope Outreach Ministries received into Philadelphia Assn in 2008
· Living Water UCC received into Philadelphia Assn in 2006
· Chestnut Hill United Methodist engaged in talks with the UCC.
· Two more churches in Philadelphia currently exploring affiliation.
2. By Church Multiplication
Existing congregations are challenged to give birth to new congregations by seeding the new church with leaders, resources, prayer, funds, and facilities. Harold O. Davis Church in Philadelphia plans to start a new congregation in West Chester, PA.
3. By Individual or Group Missional Start
A newly formed group begins to live out what God is calling them to do and develops a relationship with the Association and Conference. Two new churches in Philadelphia have started in this way and are now exploring affiliation with the UCC.
4. By a Specific Church Plant
In 2009, with the help of funding from Trinity UCC in Holland, PA, the Conference was able to call Rev. Bryan Olson to start a new church in Lower Bucks Count. Check out the progress of Field of God UCC. (See links below)
