Evangelism in the City
LIVING WATER UCC PHILADELPHIA DECEMBER 5 - 6, 2008  “Evangelism in the City: It’s a Contact Sport” is the theme for an evangelism training event to be presented by Charlene J. Smith, Minister for Evangelism at the national setting of the United Church of Christ in Cleveland, Ohio, Friday, December 5 (7-9 pm) and Saturday, December 6 (8:30 am to 2 pm). This event will be hosted by Living Water United Church of Christ, 2006 Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia, one of the newest churches in our Conference. A $5 fee will be collected at the door to cover the cost of food. Topics to be covered include: faith-sharing and witnessing, telling your story and the story of your church, connecting with your community, getting in touch with people, marketing strategies, and everyday opportunities to share your faith and to follow up with visitors. Although the strategies highlighted focus on the urban context— Philadelphia, Reading, Norristown—all PSEC churches are welcome and invited to attend. < For more information contact Rev.
