Guidelines for Candidates:
If you are seeking placement in the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference, please ask the UCC Profiles Office to send your Ministerial Profile to our office. Our churches are instructed to receive only profiles that come through the Conference system.
You are eligible to fill out a UCC Ministerial profile if you are
A pastor holding ministerial standing in an Association of the United Church of Christ
A seminarian who has been approved for ordination pending a call
A Disciples of Christ pastor who holds Ordained Ministerial Partner Standing (see below)
A pastor of another denomination who has been granted Privilege of Call by a UCC Association Committee on Ministry (see below)
We will circulate your profile according to the “Procedures” section below.
For Non-UCC Candidates:
Policies for non-UCC candidates depend on the home denomination.
Disciples of Christ: DOC pastors may apply through their local UCC Association Committee on Ministry for Ordained Ministerial Partner standing. Once such status is granted, candidates may complete a UCC profile and circulate it through the national system.
Formula of Agreement churches (ELCA, PCUSA, RCA): These pastors may have their judicatories forward their own denominational documents to our Conference office for circulation within the Conference. Should these candidates receive a call from a local church, they will then apply to the local Association Committee on Ministry for Dual Standing, which is in effect as long as service in that UCC setting continues.
Other denominations: Pastors from denominations with which the UCC has no formal relationship may apply to their local Association Committee on Ministry for Privilege of Call. Once this status has been granted, candidates may complete a UCC profile though the national system. Should a call be extended and accepted, the pastor will sever affiliation with his/her previous denomination and gain full standing in the United Church of Christ.

When we receive your profile, we will
Send you an e-mail to confirm that you are in active search and are interested in the churches of the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference.
Contact your authorizing judicatory (Association/Conference/Denomination) to confirm your authorization for ministry.
If you are actively seeking and interested in churches in our Conference, your profile will be sent to individual churches in one of two ways:
At your request
By the selection of the Conference Profile Committee, which seeks to match the gifts of candidates with the needs of churches.
In either of these cases, you will receive a list of those churches to which we have sent your profile.
If, upon reading your profile, a local church Search Committee feels that you might be a possible match and wishes to be in conversation with you, its chair will be in touch with you and send you the church’s profile.
