 Prayer Partners Over 180 congregations comprise the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ. Geographically, the seven-county area—from Philadelphia northwest to Schuylkill County—is one of the smaller conferences in the denomination. Numerically, however, we are one of the largest among the UCC's 39 geographic Conferences, as well as one of the richest in our diversity, our histories, and our traditions. But, in many ways we are strangers to one another. Each week in the Communitas, the Conference news bulletin insert, a special feature entitled, Prayer Partners, shares the name of a Pennsylvania Southeast Conference congregation and pastor(s), or special ministry/mission of the Conference. Through Prayer Partners local congregations are encouraged to include those named as part of their Sunday worship prayers, and members are urged to keep these names in their prayers for the coming week. The idea for Prayer Partners began with the Conference's Spiritual Life Mission Team. The hope of this ministry is that congregations may get to know each other a little better, to prayerfully support each other, and to have a greater sense of our covenantal connection within the larger body of Christ.
